Hoshi-no-ko School is a home for children who, for a variety of reasons, cannot live with their parents. An old junked car, a Nissan Sunny, sits in a far corner of the property, where it serves as both playground and learning place for the kids. Drawing on episodes from his own childhood, the author of Tekkonkinkreet and Ping Pong has created yet another work that brings to life the physical and emotional struggles of young boys.
