Blue is the Warmest Color

Julie MAROH / Translation: SEKIZUMI Kaoru

[France / Japan]

A young girl Clementine is awoken to her own sexuality through an encounter with Emma, a blue-haired woman. The two eventually fall in love, but various obstacles await them along the way… An excellent work quietly but passionately depicting present-day France and the figure of a girl turning to face her own identity. It is the original story of Blue Is the Warmest Colour, winner of the Palme d'Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.
