Toni, the narrator, is a fisherman from Lampedusa, an island located in the Strait of Sicily. The island is the closest part of Europe to North Africa and many migrants use it to gain entry to the continent. Interspersing documentary footage with animated sequences based on Toni’s imagination, the work poses a variety of new questions regarding the migrant crisis in Europe.
Born in 1989, a French filmmaker who graduated from the Freie Universität Berlin in Visual Anthropology in 2014.
