Still holding still

In the early days of photography, “Invisible Mothers” appeared in portraits of young children: ghostly figures that were actually mothers holding their children still during the long exposure time required back then. This short video records photo shoots done similarly. The work reveals what would have been happening behind the scenes by “creeping ‘inside’ the shutter speed.”
