Shadow-Colors of Wayang Project(IWAI Mika, Representative)

Installation / Performance [Japan]

Based on the traditional Indonesian perfor- mance art of Wayang Kulit, this new theatrical art is inspired by the noh play, Ama. It aims to be a new shadow picture production in which people can experience a fantastical world that melds reality and the spirit world within the multi-tiered installation through blended shad- ows and the physical body.

IWAI Mika|Born in Tokyo, 1977. Artist. Currently attending the dyeing and weaving course in the doctoral degree program of Kanazawa College of Art. In 2015, formed the Kageno Shikisai WAYANG Project together with NISHIDA Yuri and Ananto WICAKSONO. Representative works are Yashagaike and Workshop dancing shadow picture!
