The therapy robot is a cushion with a tail. Pet the cushion with a light touch and the tail responds by wagging softly, or pet it enthusiastically and the tail wags energetically, enabling communi- cation just like with a real animal. A program was built after researching the complex move- ments of real tails and developing a mechanism to recreate them.
