ICHIHARA Etsuko

Japan

Artist and fantasy director. Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1988. She graduated from the Waseda University School of Culture, Media and Society. As a student, she began creating art installations, electronic devices, and performative work seeking to fuse together Japanese original culture and technology. Her major works include “Sekuhara* Interface” (2012), a device that emits a coy sexual voice when users touch a large white radish, “SR×SI - The system that substitutes reality with delusion-” (2013), where participants can interact with an imaginary woman, and “@microWall” (2012) a shrine which reads the brain waves of users as they pray.(*Sekuhara is a Japanese abbreviation for “Sexual Harassment”)
